At Hebrew Public, we believe that every child should have an opportunity to reach their highest potential. To get there, it is important for us to invest not only in our students’ strong academic foundation but also to help support them in growing up as well-rounded and self-sufficient individuals.
According to KidsHealth.org, drowning is the second leading cause of death for people between the ages of 5 and 24. By teaching a child to swim, he/she will gain a potential life-saving skill and develop a greater love of physical activity. Swimming is also shown to have significant benefits for children’s physical and emotional health.
Our Swimming Scholarship Fund aims to provide scholarships to Harlem Hebrew students who want to learn to swim, but whose families may not have the resources to afford it.
The program launched in fall 2018.
